Portes Du Soleil
The Portes Du Soleil offers all snowsports enthusiasts an unlimited ski area between France and Switzerland. Ski slopes for all levels and abilities, panoramic views, tree-lined runs and lovely restaurants nestled in little hidden valleys. There are 12 different circuits, coded for different levels of skier, which can guide you around the resort in around 2 1/2hrs. Simply choose from the Bear, White Rabbit, Jackdaw, Ibex or Reindeer to guide the way.
In total there is 650 Km of piste, 195 lifts (10 gondolas, 104 drag lifts, 79 chairlifts & 4 cable cars) 577 snow cannons, 267 slopes (36 green, 113 blue, 104 red & 27 black). The Portes Du Soleil area, is only an hour’s drive from Geneva airport and provides easy access to all ski areas.
The snow record is excellent, even though Morzine, Les Gets & Avoriaz sit at a moderate altitude, it is the most northerly ski resort in the Alps, which means that it will always get much better snow than most other French resorts. This factor along with an advanced snowmaking system and the fact that most of the pistes are north facing, on pasture land and no rocks ensures that there are fabulous conditions from December right through till mid to end of April.
