Why choosing the right ski lesson matters

The right lesson helps you progress faster, build confidence and enjoy your holiday much more. A lesson that matches your ability and goals allows your instructor to focus on exactly what you need, whether that's learning the basics, refining your technique or exploring more of the mountain.

At TSI Snowsports, we take time to understand your experience, confidence and objectives before recommending a lesson. Sometimes that means suggesting a different lesson to the one you originally had in mind, simply because we know it will give you a better experience.

Private or group ski lessons?

Private ski lessons

Private lessons are perfect if you want personalised coaching at your own pace.
They are ideal for:

  • Complete beginners
  • Families
  • Couples
  • Friends skiing together
  • Intermediate and advanced skiers
  • Anyone wanting to improve quickly

With a private lesson, your instructor focuses entirely on you and adapts the lesson throughout the day to match your progress.

Group ski lessons

Group lessons provide a fun, social way to learn alongside skiers of a similar ability.
They are ideal for:

  • Adults learning together
  • Children who enjoy skiing with others
  • Beginners looking for a structured introduction
  • Friends skiing together
  • Skiers building confidence

Small group sizes mean everyone receives plenty of individual attention while enjoying the encouragement of learning with others.

Find your level

Choosing the right lesson for your ability

One of the most common mistakes people make is choosing the wrong skiing level.
Booking a lesson that's too advanced can affect your confidence, while choosing one that's too easy may slow your progress.

If you're unsure, use our ski levels guide before booking, or contact us and we'll help you find the most suitable option.

Your Questions answered

Frequently asked questions

Should I choose private or group lessons?

Private lessons provide personalised coaching, while group lessons are ideal if you enjoy learning with others and are happy to follow a structured programme.

Are private lessons better for families?

If all adults ie over 13yrs then yes, going together works as long as you are all a similar level.

With younger kids, we always recommend having separate lessons due to kids learning at a different pace and in a different way to adults.

What if I don't know my ski level?

Take a look at our Ski Levels guide or contact us before booking. We'll help you choose the most suitable lesson.

Can I change my lesson after booking?

If your plans change, contact us as soon as possible and we'll always do our best to help.

Any changes will be subject to our booking terms and conditions.
